Word Pad pages not starting up

    Hello,

I recently installed a "free" version of Microsoft office on my acer netbook. Now my saved pages in wordpad and most other programs will not launch. I can get wordpad to launch and save a page but then I cannot open it back up. Just keeps saying "processing..." for hours. What is the deal? How do I get rid of this micro office without damaging anymore of my programs or windows? I am completely stumped. I also cannot get into safe mode. I hold f8 down but it ignores it and proceeds to normal startup. Any idea what is happening?

You put free in quotation marks - what version of Office did you install (2007, 2010, etc)? Did you install a trial version?

If F8 won't get you into safe mode, try this:

It was Windows Office 2010 and it was a free download that was stripped of alot of features.
Now as I am trying to open my docs it is saying "click-2-run configuration failure"...

System Restore to before you installed the "free" office?

Click-2-run is part of the online version of Office 2010.

You should be able to uninstall it via:
    Start > Control > Uninstall a program

Or - if you have "Control" set to display as a menu:
Start > Control > Programs and Features

If it does not uninstall, you can try what Ztruker suggested using this tutorial:
    System Restore

If I uninstall Click2run and Microsoft Office 2010 starter, will there by any damage to my computer? Will I still be able to use wordpad and all other programs already on my computer before installing Microsoft Office 2010 Starter?

Uninstalling Microsoft Office will not damage your computer or remove any programs that came with the operating system, or any programs you installed.
