    No administrator permission

Trying to download a program and I receive a message that I do not have adminisrator permission. I am logged on as administrator. Right clicking does not give option to run as administrator. How do I get "permission"?

Hi superphoto, welcome to 7F! :)

Go to User Account Control, Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Action Center\change User Account Control Settings in the left view panel, put the slider on the bottom, click OK.
    Then try to download.

Don't forget to set it back.

This shows how to get there in a different way: User Account Control - UAC - Change Notification Settings
And if you do turn it off you need to restart.

    Have a look here
    Code:
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/
Scroll down to 'Grant Admin Full Control.Reg' and double click on it to download.
when entered in the registry this will give you a right click option to admin rights full control. I have tried this and it does work

    Hi Anak

Followed your suggestion - went to control panel - turned off User Account Controls - succesfully downloaded program I have been unable to get before - reset User Account Controls to default position. Thank you very much.

That is great, I'm glad I could help!

I hope you understand the perils of using your machine with the User Account Control (UAC) turned off, as in your case the file you wanted to download.
Even though you may think the file to be benign I hope you gave it a good scrubbing with one of your updated anti-virus programs.
Don't forget to set it back.
    Understanding UAC:
User Account Control - UAC - Change Notification Settings
       Note
See the Blue Note box for more detailed information about UAC.
