Windows Search hate club... why no wildcards??
I don't know a folder that really suits Windows Search questions so I post here.
lots of us have beefed about the unwieldy search thing in windows 7 Explorer, but this was news even to me.... no wildcards? or does the use of wildcards result in unpredictable unreliable results?
apparently the answer is: its a feature. one is not to use * anymore.
umm.... we were TRAINED in splat, Bill!!!
My reco is that MS buy Search Everything and include it as a utility with all OS releases
no i don't work for void.... Everything works like a champ with just about anything I care to feed it. my only beef is with the context-menu option which i think is confusing for mortals - it should default to the 'everything/anything' mode like it does when one simply opens the package [not for the first time but subsequently]
