Looking for screensaver in windows.old file

I'm not looking for an old screensaver. I'm looking for one I downloaded about 3 weeks ago just before my computer crashed. I had to reinstall Windows 7 and was able to find all my data in the windows.old file. But I don't know how to find that screensaver. It must be there, but I can't figure out how to get to it.

    Hello Spiper,

You could open the Windows.old folder, then do a search using *.scr to search for all .scr (screen saver) files in the folder. Hopefully it will be listed in the search results for you. :)

Or better still, if you remember the name of the screensaver then search for name.scr.

Well, that was pretty simple. There were a lot listed, just not the one I downloaded recently. I also searched for themes and there was nothing past 8/11. I guess the one I want is lost forever.

If you know the name of the screen saver, you might see if you may be able to find it again using Google.
