Windows 7 - My 7000 installation problem

I finally got around to installing the x32 on my old XP machine. Things went well apart from one 'little" problem. I have no screen...

At the completing installation phase of installing, the monitor suddenly goes into power saving mode. It continues the installation, restarts, the boot logo appears and then goes back into power saving again.

I left it sit for about 20 mins and then hit reset (once HD activity stopped). I then tried to boot into safe mode, but encountered the "windows cannot complete installation in safe mode. please restart computer". problem is, i restart, boot normally and lose the screen again

To add insult, i've lost XP from the boot menu. That could be easily fixed, if I could see....

This PC has succesfully had the 6801 build installed on it before, so I'm assuming that the bundled Video driver in 7000 is the culprit.

Any ideas?

Moot point. I removed the partition. Something to tackle later. Maybe...
