Adding old sata hard drive to new computer

I just ordered a new computer with windows 7 professional 64. My old computer has Windows XP. I would like to install the old hard drive in my new one (new one has a bay for 3 hard drives). After the installation, will I be able to access files from the old hard drive?

Yes.

The C drive on the new computer should still be in charge if you connect the old drives and allow you to view, copy, or delete any files.

You should be able to. Windows should see it, install the drivers, and a auto play pop up will appear.

You may have to reboot the pc once or twice, just be patient.

Johnnydot that was a great question. I've been thinking about that myself. I have a working Hdd with XP on it, and going to try putting it in my Win 7 machine. I believe it could be used as a dual Hdd/dual boot system. I have a Gigabyte MB, and if I hit f12 during post I should be able to pick which drive boots.
