Windows 7: Videos not playing during Photo Gallery slideshow screensaver

Videos not playing during Photo Gallery slideshow screensaver

Minor thing this, but annoying!

I use the Windows Live Photo Gallery screensaver, ticked for 'photos and video from...'. When it runs, photos are fine but videos show with a grayed out media file icon. These are just simple .avi files that play with media player, vlc, or whatever.

Any ideas welcome!

What`s your processor , ram , graphics card ?
Why are you using video for a screensaver. Delete them just use pictures.

Processor is Intel core i5, RAM is 6GB.

Yes, I could just delete the videos (or move them elsewhere), but I've got a lot, and it'd make it difficult to look through them in context with the photos in future which I need to do for various boring work reasons. And it just seems silly that it can't do what it says it will - why say 'photos and videos' if it means 'photos'?!

I thought you wrote sample videos, by all means don`t delete them. Have you tried just running the videos ?

No, I hadn't! Nice idea - but same result of just lots of icons.
