Weird look of windows

    Do you have a video card? Try reinstalling it.

    If that doesn't help try another video card to see if the problem continues.

    I would also rightclick on an empty area of Desktop, choose Personalize and select another Aero theme to see if it renders the same.

    Is this on all windows, or only certain ones like the screenshot which appears to be a program starting? How about browser windows?

    Even though you've not themed it or made modifications I would still run SFC -SCANNOW Command.

    Was this boxed retail Win7 so that no modded themes were included in the installer, or have been added since?

    The scan didn't returned any error, so everything is all right. And yes, it is boxed, without any modded themes.

    is your font size set to 100%?

    It looks like something is trying to scale up that app, which isn't working because of the background picture.

    hit the start button, type "text" and click on "make text and other items larger or smaller"
    is 100% selected or 125%?

    Yes, it was set to 125%. Anyway, thanks to you too for your help - you at least tried to solve my problem :)
