Ctrl+Alt+Del often doesn't work when something like a kernel driver crashes or if you have overclocked your computer too high and it locks up.

TJMax is a retail store chain in the USA
Stop using RegCure, it'll cause more problems than you need.

To test crashes/freezes the first thing to do is to check the system without overclocking. If it still crashes/freezes, then troubleshoot it without the overclock. Once the system is stable, then apply the overclock to see if it remains stable.

guy ctrl+alt+del is the hotkey assignment to log off. no wonder it wont work. because it's trying to logoff windows in the middle of an app crash.
as stated by jmanjeff, ctrl+shift+esc is the NEW hotkey assignment for the task manager.

Umm no, CTRL+ALT+DELETE is a system interrupt which tells Windows to stop the current process and open the Windows Security dialog. The Windows Security dialog puts Windows into a secure desktop like UAC. CTRL+ALT+ESC is not an interrupt, just a standard hotkey.

However, again if the CPU is locked up it cannot receive the interrupt and inform Windows.

Windew420 - I hear what you are asking. Your original problem has been mitigated but not solved.

Other SF members, this is a continuing probelm- originally attributed to severe overheating @100C.
