Run As Different User does nothing

Hi
I am trying to run apps as a different user, but it does not work. I have tried this from the context menu on a shortcut, and by using RunAs from a command window.

I get prompted for username and password, but then nothing happens.

The strange thing is it only affects certain programs. If I do the same thing with Notepad it works fine.

Has anyone seen this before?
