    Buzzing noise?

a week ago, my dell started making a high pitched buzzing noise from the mobo, any idea why it would do that? i have not been rough with it at all.

Why not open the side panel of the case and see if you can tell where it's coming from? Don't touch anything just listen and see if you can tell.

Are you talking about the ram? It is not supposed to be able to fall out on it's own.

OK.. Does it have two sticks? Try it with only one stick in and see if it will POST. If it does, then buy some new ram or just use it with only the one stick.

    Best of luck! :)

You said a chip broke off the ram. If that is so, you are going to need new ram. But the ram is supposed to be locked in place and not be able to fall out.

I forgot to mention, the ram was probably what was buzzing if you say one of the chips fell off. The chips shouldn't fall off that easy, it was probably defective.
