    That might work for you. If you want to tinker a lot, you wouldn't have to be constantly opening up the case.

    You might learn something.

    Then buy a case later on when you can afford it.

    i need more ram because i think im going to need it. currently i can run 2 or 3 VM's on my machine but i want to be able to run much more than that, a few minecraft servers too perhaps, things like that

    Your choices are:

    Buy a micro ATX board.

    Buy another case that will take an ATX motherboard.

    Stay with your current case and motherboard.

    Don't use a case.
