Delete shortcut to recycle bin when clicked.

    I'm having this strange problem.
I'm helping a friend's netbook (Samsung N150) running Windows 7. Upon booting up, i tried to open any program shortcuts on the desktop but multiple windows prompt me whether i want to delete the shortcuts. Any files or folders i clicked it happens too. Hence halting up the system.

At first i thought it was some kind of virus or malware, so booted to safe mode to have it scan. But surprisingly, the problem still persist in safe mode. So i ran some live cds and managed to clean the system. Booted up normally and the problem's still there. Did last known good config, system restore, checked and updated the drivers but to no avail. So i resort to the last method. Re install windows.

Backup everything, format the drives and did a clean installation of Windows 7. After booting up for the first time, and guessed what? The problem was still there. I've ran out of ideas. I was concluding it as a hardware problem.

    Any help will greatly appreciated.

can you manage to run this?
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

sounds like annoying malware went and changed all the file associations.
You can also try running this in safe mode with networking (it will install and update through safe mode if the networking option is on)
Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer
