After selecting user profile, windows gets stuck
I am new to this forum and as of today, Windows is giving me a serious headache. It was working fine hours ago, but I turned it off and just booted it up now and it is refusing to log in now. I am currently running an OEM installation of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP0.
The problem?: So I booted my computer up and noticed that it booted up a little faster than normal. I then did the login through my fingerprint and nothing happened(sometimes it takes a while to log in), so then I clicked my user profile, and it went to the login splash screen(the blank Windows 7 Home Premium splash screen). After waiting a bit, the prompt for my password did not show up and my profile did not show up whatsoever. It was just the splash screen. So then I restarted my computer and put it into safe mode, which is working fine. But I still am unable to log into any one of the 2 accounts installed on my computer.
I have scanned my computer for viruses with malwarebytes and it says everything is coming out clean. However, my event viewer is saying that "the dependency service or group failed to start." The only program that I installed recently was avast! 7. Oh and I cannot restore my computer because system restore keeps failing.
What is going on? Should I just wait longer for Windows to load?
