Can an XP file on a flash drive be copied to a Win7 system?
I have a Logitech program file I need on a Lexar 2GB flash drive. Can I copy it to my new Win7 laptop? If so, how?
I highly doubt this is possible... but I had to ask. :)

you can attach usb drive to win7 machine and copy the file to win7 partition. What is the problem? What kind of file is it?
Do you mean it is installed on an XP system and you want to move it to a new Windows 7 laptop? If so, no, the software would need to be reinstalled. You should be able to get updated versions from Logitech's website.
<sigh> That's what I expected. If I have to download a new program from Logitech, it's like programming my remote all over again.
Are there any XP files that are compatible with Win7... such as games, etc.?
If you want to use XP software on Windows 7 you may have to use a virtual machine such as VMWare.
I was going to suggest XP Mode as well, but you don't have Windows 7 Professional, which is the minimum requirement for it.
However, you could always use Windows Anytime Upgrade from Home Premium to Professional for a few dollars more.
Thanks so much for that link/referral. I fear it would be over my head, but I've saved the link, in case I get the courage to try it, after I have learned to navigate Win7 a LOT better. :)
I just have a lot game disks which are not available for Win7, and had hoped I might be able to use them. Thanks again!
If a program you've installed wont run properly on win 7 because it's designed for XP, right click on the .exe file and say run in comparability mode for win xp. Compatibility Mode
You're very welcome.
If you are considering XP Mode (which is free from Microsoft) have a look at this tutorial.

Also, as Tekno suggets, you can try compatibility mode, but it's not always successful. A virtual machine would be better in my opinion.
