Problem With the Jump List - Fails to Work!

    Hello all!

My jump list for Office Word 2007 just suddenly stopped working while I was typing up an essay - It's been weeks since I've installed anything or tweaked settings. All of a sudden, when I could previously pull up recent documents and pinned documents by clicking on the arrow or dragging from my taskbar, I can't anymore.

Here's an example of nothing showing up for Word. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Edit to clarify the "Recent Documents vs. Jump List"
I mean recent documents - the "jump list" in the taskbar for word 07 has the task of showing you your recent documents as well as pinned documents - but neither work now

    Here is what I mean

Is what I would like to get it to look like.

There is a known bug where when you get more than X items in start menu it goes blank. there is a thread here with the cure. It looks something like this. If you search that thread also has the fix. I believe the fix involves moving the start items to somewhere else and then back. heck the thread to be sure

    Hope this helps

    Point of order...

That is not a jump list. That is recent documents in the Start Menu.

Are these one and the same, part and parcel?

Sorry I just cleared my list of start menu items - but I'm not sure if we're on the same page.

I'm not getting a list of "recent documents+pinned documents" for my jump list for Windows 07 as I usually did.

Is that what your bug assumes?

    Thanks!

[edit]@ Antman: yes I mean recent documents - the "jump list" in the taskbar for word 07 has the task of showing you your recent documents as well as pinned documents - but neither work now

Hi guys I'm terribly sorry about the confusion I'm causing with the Recent Documents vs. Jump List ---

If you look at my first post again I edited and clarified myself:
I mean recent documents - the "jump list" in the taskbar for word 07 has the task of showing you your recent documents as well as pinned documents - but neither work now

    Thanks!

    Thanks a lot!

I think I have the same problem.

I have the Word (2007) icon pinned to the taskbar in Windows 7, and previously when I right clicked it, I could see the list of recently used docs, and I had a few docs permanently pinned to the list. Worked great! However, recently the MRU list and the pinned items disappeared from the Word icon list. Now, when I right click the Word icon on the taskbar, I only see the following items listed:

    Microsoft Office Word 2007
    Unpin this program from taskbar
    Close window.

There's nothing else listed! This problem only seems to affect Word. Other programs (such as other Office apps like Excel) are not affected.

I ran an Office repair but no luck.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

One of your Delete or Clear Jumplist Recent Items in Windows 7 is corrupted in AutomaticDestinations-hidden system folder

    go to

    %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations

YOu may notice one of the file is huge compare to the other. Delete that or just delete them all.

    Details see

Delete or Clear Jumplist Recent Items in Windows 7

    Good luck.

    The same problem

I have exactly the same problem that DarrylGittins has, only with Office 2010 and jump list doesn't work in Excel either (still the same way).

Deleting the one file that was over 1MB from %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
nor deleting all of the files nor repair install of Office 2010 didn't help either.

    Any other suggestions?
