Brand and model of your computer?

Which Windows 7 CD are you using?

Can you reboot and enter the recovery partition?

i just ran a malwarebytes full scan and went upstairs to eat sandwich. computer was runnin fine just wanted to scan to check for any bad cookies or what not. when i came back 30min later screen was off and wouldnt resume. so i rebooted it and now it doesnt load win7 just says insert CD/dvd. i just looked in bios and the time is set to march 2000. and it wont let me change it. under IDE channels it see my cd/dvd drive but i dont see my Sata hard drive listed any where, did bios not detect it?
this is a computer i built to game on. it has a gigabyte board. i was running win 7 ultimate.

when i run the win7 dvd i can get in dos prompt and see my C: drive and windows dir.
i would like to see if i can get this to boot as i dont want to reload win 7 and have to start all over with all my games and patches and drivers. thanks

Hi,

Its possible that Malwarebytes deleted a system file that was infected, causing instability in your system - Malwarebytes doesn't touch anything that is not infected. What was your reason for running Malwarebytes in the first place? What is the original source of your Windows 7 installation?

Try this tutorial to see if it helps your situation:

Startup Repair

Hi,

What type of infection did you have when you started running Malwarebytes? What is the source of your Windows 7 CD/DVD?

It's not an IDE, so can't check the jumpers. Can't flash the BIOS, hum?

It's a friends pc. I replaced the power supply but that did not fix it. It's not a virus cause it did allow me to install linux. So the cd rom worked through the install. The computer has a lot of dust in it. I was going to blow it out tomorrow. Could it just be dust? Any other ideas.
