    Windows 7 Reinstallation/Repair CD Help

Hi, I am trying to repair my Inspiron 1545 using the Windows 7 CD....The problem is when I turn on the computer, it says "No Boot Sector". I am not very computer savvy but I was hoping to be able fix this, thinking maybe it would just need the boot record repaired with the repair disk. I have been able to get it to boot from the CD, however I get stuck on the "System Recovery Options" Window...the choices are "Use recovery tools that can help fix problems....etc" and "Restore your computer using a system image....etc" - Under the first option it is supposed to list the Operating System but it is not showing up for some reason, and not sure how to get it to show the CD. thanks for any help!

And the Startup repair says the MBR is Corrupt...

I assume this is the screen you are seeing? If so click on Command Prompt and use these commands "/FixMbr" "/FixBoot" "/ScanOs" "/RebuildBcd" without the quotations of course.

Here is the link to the info about these commands. How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    I hope this helps
