    what is virtual store folder

What is this folder and why do things get saved in it?
Seems it happens by itself for some programs but I don't know why it happens
    Almost drove me crazy today
    What is this thing anyway?

Things get put there when an application that does not have administrative power tries and put files to a location that requires administrative power (Run as Admin). The folder prevents the application from crashing and burning.

So I guess that includes C:\ as well
I tried to edit a file on C drive through edit.exe in cmd
then when I saved it got moved to virtual store
I got another file with the same name in C:\ and tried to open it through cmd, but it kept on opening the virtual store version
Is there anyway I can stop this from happening?

Right-click > Run as Admin. Or better yet. Use your user directory (C:\Users\[username]) or a directory your user account has full access to.
