Good quality DVD's are $2 for 5 on the wall rack near the camera dept at Walgreens, 24/7.

I sure hope you are following the steps closely in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Ask back if you have any more questions at all.

You can install windows 7 directly from hdd without the need of any disc or flash drive.
Install Windows 7 FAST without a DVD or USB device

But you know what, its a lot easier to just burn a disc and boot from it than to create a partition, store files there etc.

As it says in the tutorial, make your HP Recovery disks first. HP Recovery will sometimes still run from its partition after a Clean Reinstall, but you'll need the disks as backup to be sure.

There is no way a Clean Reinstall will not work when you have the top experts for this here to help you. But follow the steps in the tutorial carefully and ask back any questions as you go.
