Is it safe to uninstall every software on a prebuilt pc?

I am planning to do a factory restore on my pc but i know it would reinstall most of the software that came with it things like hp support center etc,i was wondering is it safe to uninstall everything or should i just leave it as it be?

If you don't want all HP's software, you can carry out a clean install using your COA product key to activate.

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Any drivers you need can be obtained via Windows Updates or HP Support.

You can remove all of the software that has the name HP in it.

Not all of it - if there are hotkeys/special function keys used by HP, you'll have to keep that around if you want them working. There are usually HP specific forums/boards that have lists of the crap that can be removed - I'd check around to see if there's one for your particular model.

Yea. Sorry! I didn't think about that. I usually reinstall Windows as soon as I make the recovery discs, so I don't ever really encounter this.

Since HP has the worst load of bloatware in the industry, you'd do best to clean reinstall using the link SeaVixen provided: Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Until then you can Clean Up Factory Bloatware - Windows 7 Forums

+1 I did that to my HP. It started messing up on the factory install. Clean installs are way better than the factory.

How would you delete files from a Vista CD? I assume you mean a Vista installation DVD?

If you want to burn the downloaded ISO to a disk, you need a fresh blank DVD, not a CD.

Rewritable CDs may not be supported as a bootable device as the drive requires drivers that aren't loaded during boot (I know mine cannot boot).

    Buy some disks, they're cheap.
