Programs pinned to taskbar, loose their Icon

I had this same issue this is what I did to get around it.

• Unpin the messed up icon from the task bar.

• Right click on the taskbar then select Properties.

• Tick the check box next to Use Small Icons.
• Click OK.
• Re-pin the program and it should pin correctly.
• Right click on the taskbar then select Properties.
  
  
• Untick the check box next to Use Small Icons.
• Click OK.

Not sure why it worked for me but it might work for you too.

None of these ideas worked for me, the screen resolution or the taskbar property sheet size selection (didn't look at icon cache though)...

My W7 HP 64 laptop developed a fault with the Intel SSD toolbox 2 taskbar icon after displaying correctly for a few months.

After trying the ideas in this thread I found there was a new release of the toolbox, installed that, then the icon displayed correctly...
