SMB file hierarchy displays multiple identical listings
I have a Windows 7 64 bit PC that is networked with a Boxee Box through a CAT cable into the Ethernet connection on the Boxee. This arrangement works fine but for whatever reason my list of folder entries as displayed by the Boxee just keeps inexplicably duplicating.
This is hard to explain but let me try. I've had the Boxee for about 6 months now and I began having a problem straight away. My original file structure that showed in SMB was:
C, Movies, Home Movies, Music, Music Videos and Pictures.
For whatever reason duplicates started showing up in the tree, named for example, Movies~1. So I had Movies and Movies~1, Music and Music~1 and so on. Then I started getting duplicates named Movies~2, so I had Movies, Movies~1, Movies~2.
Now this thing is getting really out of hand because these listings are now duplicated. I have Movies, Movies~1, Movies~1, Movies~2, Movies~2 and so on. The list is becoming quite ridiculous.
My list is now;
C, C, Home Movies, Home Movies, Movies, Movies, Movies~1, Movies~1, Movies~2, Movies~2, Music, Music, Music~1, Music~1,Music~2, Music~2 Music Videos, Music Videos, and on and on.
They all point to the appropriate place but the list grows willy nilly, I never know when a new listing will appear to the ever growing list.
Clearly this is a Windows 7 thing because I see the same structure on my WD TV Live device in another room.
What is up and how do I fix this?
