Remove pop-ups in Windows Explorer

Hi, I know this has been asked time and again but I can't find a solution: is there a way to prevent Windows Explorer to pop-up info when you hover a filename:
for instance, when you hover a Directory name, it shows the Type of object, directory, and the Modified Date. For a File it shows the Size etc...

I applied this tweak, but to no avail: How disable balloons in all programs ?

I'm also interested in a solution to other obnoxious pop-ups such as : Irritating Explorer pop ups

I'm a beginner in Windows 7, coming from Windows XP, and I'm desesperate by the huge drop in productivity that I'm experiencing right now. Under the hood 7 is far superior, no doubt, but when it comes to basic usability, it's a nightmare. I find the design awful and senseless

I have dutch Windows 7 so maybe I translate the menu wrong. But it's something like this:

Open Explorer. Then extra->options. Then tab "View". Now you see a lot of settings which you enable or disable. Disable "show popup description" or something like that. Press OK multiple times. Close and reopen Explorer.
