Windows Explorer does not update (display)

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem with Windows Explorer, I searched for a valid solution besides reinstalling or creating a new user (profile), both solution that I find unacceptable but to no avail.

Expected behavior from Windows Explorer. You copy a file into a folder, you want it to automatically get into order in whatever sorting order you choose.

Current behavior of my Windows Explorer, when I copy a file into a folder or if I rename a file and want Explorer to update I have to hit F5 (Actualiser (in french)).

I'm sure there is a solution written somewhere in this forum (hope so ) but since my Windows in is french I have some difficulty to find the correct wording to conduct the search.

Can anyone point me to the solution if there is any?

    Thanks

I don't know of a solution in the proper sense of the word.

What does happen is that when you close down Windows Explorer then relaunch it, you will find that any additional file or folder will be in the correct alphabetical order.

I know that, you can achieve the same result by forcing the refresh by pressing F5 but it used to do that automatically but for an unknow reason, not anymore! My goal is to find a way to put it back the way it should be!

On my C drive everything works fine, if I have three files

    CCC.txt
    DDD.txt
    EEE.txt

and I create a new one named AAA.txt it automatically get updated and goes first in the list.

On all my other drives, file AAA.txt remains after EEE.txt until I hit F5 or reopen a new Explorer.

Now, if this information is of any use, I did reinstalled my system by formating drive C and keeping everything else as it was (but I claimed onwership with the new installation).

    Automatic display refresh - solved

    1) Go to Windows Explorer
    2) Right click on C: disk
    3) Select Porperties
    4) Go to Security tab, and cick on Advanced
    5) Select Owner tab - you want it to be your account. If it is not,
    6) click on Edit and then
    7) Click on Change owner and select your account from the offered list
    8) exit all of the pages as well as Windows Exporer
when you come back, it should all work
