Problems with mouse cursor on the desktop

Usually when I click and drag on the desktop it creates a blue square but now for some reason it only creates a square with dotted lines. It looks the same when you click and drag on windows xp.

I would do a System Restore. Go back before the problem started.

Have you added any new hardware lately? Or downloaded any Updates?

Heres the link to the Tutorial for System Restore:

I already tried a system restore already and it didn't quite solve the problem.

Well I downloaded Wise Registry Cleaner the other day but I did a system restore and had it uninstalled after that.

Did you notice the problem with the mouse right after using the Registry Cleaner?

You may of damaged some system files. Run sfc /scannow. If it finds problems. Run it 3 times or more. Untill everything is fixed.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
