    Win 7 won't start.

Hi! This morning when I booted up my PC it got as far as 'Starting Windows' then nothing, black screen. I heard the windows chime, but still just a black screen. My modem was on but my local connection light was off. If that means anything.
I push the power button to turn it off. Restarted and a thingy came on that said it was checking to see if it could repair itself. Then I got an option for a restore to an earlier time which I chose. It restarted. I got the same thingy saying it was trying to fix itself. Then it said to contact my admins or manufacturer.
I did not install any new hardware or software. There were no beeps. It was a clean install.
I have a Dell PC with 4 HD bays. So I unplugged the Windows 7 HD and then plug in the Vista HD. Started my PC no problem. So here I am.
Any advice? I love Windows 7.
    Thanks!

Try safe booting in win 7. if it boots, it might be a video driver. You hwaven't told us much about your system. When you get a chance could you fill in your sys specs (lower left corner) so we know what hardware you have.

    Thanks

If it is a video driver and frequently it is. You can go into device manager (type device manager in search) go to the display adapters and see if its there, and if it has a yellow triangle on it. If no yellow triangle you can un-install the video driver and let windows find one for you. We could use some info abt your computer hardware ( put into system specs lower left corner) so we know what hware you have.

If it isn't the video driver it also could be either a bios setting, or a raid (if you have one) driver.

    Try the video driver first

Let us know if you need helpp

K,I'm on safe mode right now and there is nothing in device manager. Under Sound, video and game controllers. There is nothing but Realtek High Definition Audio. Thats it.
