no screeen!!!!!!!!!

hi guys,

now i dont have the laptop in front of me to grab all the details, but on my dads computer (all i know is that it's less than a year old...lol) he doesn't get any screen at all, its just black. unless, he plugs it into hdmi, then he gets the screen on the tv and thats it...

i dont have all the details for the computer or what level of windows 7 it is or anything, but is there a fairly standard setting in windows 7 that i should try and change when i get the computer tomorrow?

appreciate any help guys...

On most laptops, Fn+F7 toggles between internal screen, external screen and both with alternate keystrokes and when on external the internal screen is black - that is all I can think of and I think when you power off and back on it reverts to the default of internal only anyway but may be worth trying...

I've also seen Fn+F3 or Fn+F4 on laptops. And some of them retain the setting across boot if the external is still connected. And one model I've run across retained the setting across boots and even with the external disconnected, until manually changing it back (very old machine if I remember correctly).
