So, I'm dual-booting Win 8 CP and Windows 7. Right now, it's using the Windows 8 boot manager. that said, how can I get rid of 8 AND the boot manager without ruining my Windows 7 partition?

Look in Disk Management. If Win7 remains System Active partition then as long as it's on the HD set to boot first in BIOS, you can delete Win8 in Disk Management.

If not post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Management drive map with listings, using the SNipping Tool in Start Menu.

Here you go.

The Win7 System Reserved partition is booting Win7 now as shown by the System Active flags, so while Win8 may be providing the Metro-Style Dual Boot menu it is still good to be deleted in Disk Management since no boot-critical files are on its partition.
