Missing User file folder, but login still works

    Hi,

I got a new laptop this past Christmas. It was working beautifully until 2 weeks ago when I activated the guest account from the control panel.

Now when I go to... C:\Users...
Public folder and Guest folder show up but not my user folder. It was there before I activated the guest account.

I can still login and my "library" still contains all the files it used to contain, I just don't understand why it does not show up under C:\Users ?????

The reason this is bothersome is, I sometimes want to access a file from a different computer (2 pcs and 2 laptops between 2 adults and 1 pre-teen) on our home network and I can't locate my user files for this.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to how this happened or how it can be corrected?

    Thanks in advance!

Hello Mel, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Your C:\Users\(user-name) folder may have been set to be hidden by mistake. Use the tutorial below to have all of your hidden files/folders show as faded.
If your C:\Users\(user-name) folder shows up afterwards as a faded folder, then you can use the tutorial below to set this folder to not be hidden anymore. Afterwards, you can use the tutorial above again to not have your hidden files/folders to show anymore.
    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
