My Compaq Presario CQ40, windows 7, hangs in 2 minutes.

    Hello everyone.

Pardon me if my problem sounds little funny.
    I have Compaq Presario CQ40, windows 7 laptop.3GB RAM,320 GB Hard Disk.
Since past few days i m facing this problem, whenever i put on my laptop, and when the desktop opens, my laptop hangs in another 1 or 2 minutes. i have tried this around 5-6 times and still there isn't any improvement. i have also tried to set my computer to an earlier restore point, and have done this twice, still no improvement.

Shall i run recovery, i m afraid of data loss.

Can any 1 guide me what could be the cause, and what could be the solution.

Download VEW (eventviewer) by Vino Rosso http://images.malwareremoval.com/vino/VEW.exe
and save it to your desktop

Double click it to start it Note: If running Windows Vista or Windows 7 you will need to right click the file and select Run as administrator and click Continue or Allow at the User Account Control Prompt.

Click the check boxes next to Application and System located under Select log to query on the upper left

Under Select type to list on the right click the boxes next to Error and Warning Note: If running Windows Vista or Windows 7 also click the box next to Critical (not XP).

Under Number or date of events select Number of events and type 20 in the box next to 1 to 20 and click Run

Once it finishes it will display a log file in notepad
Please copy and paste its entire contents into your next reply

In addition to checking for infection, is this the original factory bloatware install which on HP's is the worst in the industry? If so I would follow these steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware - Windows 7 Forums especially establishing a Clean Boot and checking for System file damage.

If that doesn't solve it and it's not infected, then work through these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 - Windows 7 Forums working up to possibly getting the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
