Frequent not responding then freeze

Hi ,
I have been getting a FREQUENT NOT RESPONDING ERROR resulting in a freeze which can last 30 seconds to a minute. It happens mostly in windows but also on the net occasionally.

My net speed is slow , even though when I test it, it usually displays a speed of about 20 or more -- MY cable speed that I pay for is 12 G.

I am on w7 and my comp is 6g memory with a HD of 750 g with 300g free space.

I have done all the necessary to make sure that nothing starts that should not start up--

A friend told me that I should download a REGISTRY CLEANER--

I sure would appreciate any advice -- If A registry cleaner is the way to go , could you recommend any. Or could there be any other potential solution ?

Your help is greatly appreciated--- Thanks , Ralph

Absolutely NO to the Registry Cleaner which offers nothing except to ruin your OS.

The problems with HP is that they have the worst load of factory bloatware in the industry. Work through these steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware which should help relieve the situation if it is OS-related.

Many tech enthusiasts prefer a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to get the leanest possible install.

If these options don't help then I would test my hardware and work through these other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 - Windows 7 Forums

Super Frequent & Brief Non-Responding Issues
So after my PC runs for more than half an hour (roughly) processes start going on the fritz. They will go into non-responding mode for about a quarter of a second, just fast enough to "Un-select" the window I have open. The longer my computer runs, the more frequent it occurs. This causes me some...

Frequent flash and freeze
I'm not sure if this is classified as a BSOD. An error report never comes on. The screen flashes once then a few seconds later the system freezes and is unresponsive to any mouse or keyboard commands including Ctrl-Alt-Del. I have seen no set pattern as to when it occurs, sometimes it even...

Frequent and random freeze and shutdown
Hi I've been experiencing very frequent freezes then shutdown without BSOD. The mouse and running applications just freeze, and if I have audio on, the sound will crash into noise, then a few seconds later, the PC shuts down. I thought it maybe overheating but I put a large fan directly on the...
