Welcome to the Seven Forums, ArchAngel. There are many threads in these Forums telling you how to handle this common problem. However for starters you read the tutorial at Bootmgr is missing - Fix. There you shall be shown the way to resolve this problem.

In case you are unable to resolve the problem then first use a Partition Manager Boot Disk to delete all the partitions on the Hard Disk and then recreate the partitions as you want them to be. After that do a clean reinstall of Window 7 on the first partition using your installation DVD. This is how I solved this problem before I had joined Seven Forums.

What disk do you have to boot? Is it Windows Defender flash stick or CD, Win7 DVD or System Repair Disk for the correct 32- or 64-bit installed OS?

First tap the ESC key repeatedly to enter BIOS setup, make sure the HD is set first to boot, Save Settings and Exit.

Now see if Win7 will boot with HD set first to boot.

If not tap the F12 key at reboot to boot into DVD/CD to attempt repairs as given in tutorial in blue link. You 'll need to work through all the steps since nothing can be ruled out.

by pressing esc repeatly, just fast tracks to the last screen on my last script.
when i press del key to get into my bios set up i made sure 1st boot is to hd 2nd to cd 3rd to floppy.
this does not boot, it goes through to bootmanager missing ctrl alt del to restart

i have tried to put my windows 7 pro 64 bit cd in and reboot it doesnt read the cd
also i have burned a cd repair disk still the same and also used a usb stick and changed the bios menu to boot off usb hdd stick as the first boot and still get the same result
when i press f 12 to get into boot menu i cannot move the arrow keys at all it remains in hd boot up the srceen just locks up and i have to restart the machine to get out of the menu

Try resetting the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS

Now enter BIOS setup again and set CD/DVD drive to boot first. Reboot, look for Press Any key prompt to boot Win7 DVD or Repair CD. Do you see it?

If not burn another Win7 DVD or Repair CD. If you use the Win7 DVD ISO in this tutorial and the tool to burn to DVD or write to Stick then it should boot. Keep trying until it boots.

If it will not boot then try to boot free Partition Wizard bootable CD which will autostart, wipe the HD from Disk tab. This will force the installer to also autostart to Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

You can copy out your files by slaving the HD to another computer but it likely won't boot. You can also try Paragon Rescue CD freeware which should autostart to copy out your files.

getting closer but no cigar

ok i reset bios and disabled first boot to hd and let 2nd boot to cd
this ran through as before but when it came to verifying dmi pool data new command came underneath ... boot from cd/dvd: press any key to boot from cd or dvd....
it waited few seconds i tried any key but no responce from key board then the dreaded bootmgr missing appeared again

Hi ArchAngel,

Had you re-partitioned the Hard Disk and then clean installed Windows 7, you would have been through long back. If all else fails then you can perhaps still take this option, as I had suggested in the first post.

Of course one misses out a lot in the learning experience if one takes this simple way out.
