In Windows Explorer I can automatically launch most applications based on the associated file extension. This does not work for the files named "*.skf" which I have associated with a legacy...
I wanted to look at and edit a .dll file using Notepad, but I accidentally forgot to uncheck "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file." So now Notepad is associated with .dll files.
I've tried completely removing the registry values under
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.dll...

seem to have a strange problem, suddenly I cannot open a pdf, the list of files to associate is minus the .pdf extension
Also have uninstalled adobe reader, tried to re install it but keeps throwing up error 15040. Would appreciate any help to solve this

javascript .js files are associtated with WordPad.exe. ...should be Notepad.exe
.js file extension is missing in the Default Programs-Associate file type....
