You need to rightclick on the Free Space to Delete Volume as it is still Logical as shown by the green.
First time Delete was to delete the partition. Next you delete the Logical volume which will make it Unallocated so that Disk Mgmt can Extend C into it.
I deleted a partition I had added previously for a Linux OS. After deleting it turned green as in "Free Space" I want that available space given back to C. I have included a screen shot of where I am. I don't know what to do next. The "Extend Volume" Option in C is not activated.

I've just got rid of my Samsung recovery partition data and made the space unallocated. I want to add this free space to the C;\Drive partition, but the extend option on the context menu for C is greyed out.
I assume it's because there is a tiny partition in-between the other two,...
i've tried a virtual machine and formatted a 40gig partition on the pc hdd running win 7 then tried to load my copy of xp and in all cases the option to install xp is greyed out on the welcome screen. i even used administrator privileges.
