    available room on HD

    I use Windows 7 Home Premium. Only 3 months in use.
    When checking the remaining available room on my HD, I found from the one to the other day that there was a drop of 6 GB. I did not install "heavy" programms.
    How can?

    Most likely a backup program is using the space. There is a very good free utility that will display disk space usage in an easy to understand GUI called "Folder Size" and it can be downloaded from;

    Folder Size - Freeware file size analysis. Check the directory sizes, folder sizes and file sizes on your computer with this freeware tree size analysis tool.

    Hello Cavia, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    In addition, the tutorial below may be able to help you find what is using the HDD space to see if it's something that you can easily recover. :)

    Hope this helps,

    Uberbdon, sorry, I overlooked your contribution. Thanks, but I did not make a Windows Backup.
    Brink (Shawn?) also thanks for your help. I am going to work it out.
    By the way it is nice to find (as a newcomer) that you gave me a hearty welcome and it feels well that my question has been answered so quickly by several members of the Forum. (I apologize fot my poor English)
