Windows 7 thinks there are 3 monitors when only 2 are connected

Heya

I connected second graphic card to my old system. Windows for some reason thinks there are 3 monitors connected where as I have only 2.

How do I set it back to 2 so my mouse would stop wondering off screen?

Thanks, bye.

Is this an SLI or Crossfire setup?
If so have you enabled the feature through the nvidia/ati settings?

So you have one monitor plugged into each? you are using one for physx?
I'm just trying to figure out where the system is making the disconnect at here.
It will call a installed card a 'display' even if it is not plugged in.

At least I know that to be true from when I was using a similar setup.
In my case it was not attempting to extend the desktop to the phantom display though.
Which seems to be what you have happening here.
You could simply remove the display from the current nvidia multimonitor profile.
Which should stop that problem but the phantom display will remain.

Heya

eee nop all cables are connected to this 1 gtx 480.

I think its worth mentioning that 1st time I connected it it was in clot above gtx 480 making it primary card. Then I moved it below but it still apear as gpu01

Also even now when I check my diagnostic tools everest it still says gpu1 as 8800 and gpu2 as 480

In nvidia there is no third display.

However I do plan on connecting second display to second monitor to even out the balance and also gtx480 works a lot cooler with just 1 display connected...

Thanks, bye.

If you are not using the second graphics card for anything then just remove it.

Heya

I've now connected 1 monitor per GPU.

In screen resolution if I click detec I have 2 of my screen + 2 extra grayed out - I can tell it which plug to look for the monitor for but there is no option to delete it... How can I fix it?

Thanks, bye.
