Hello, I'm new to this forum so please excuse me if my wording is incorrect.
I am the technical team lead at a company in the West Midlands. We have just rolled out about 1000 Windows 7 clients, all Dell, some laptops and some desktops. Everything was working fine until one day it was brought up that a user switched on his desktop and it completely bypassed the ctrl-alt-del screen and went straight into his desktop. This happened twice but has not happened since. The desktop is a member of the domain, and all looks normal for this machine account in AD. I have looked at the event logs and everything looks so normal! Is this something that normally happens in Windows 7 now and again? We have no sinlge sign on implemented here, however, we do use PGP disk encryption, but ONLY on the laptops and NOT the desktops. Any lines of investigation would really help. I have tried to Goolge this issue and all i get is replies about Enabling or Disabling Auto login! All i want to know is if this has ever happened to anyone else? Auto login GPO has not been implemented in any way, however, I have found a GPO that applies the 'Log on using CTRL-ALT-DEL'. This GPO has not been configured, but from what I have seen, it doesn't need to be.
Can anyone shed some light on this? For a newbie?
