How do I repair the built-in Administrator account ?
I accidentally deleted the profile list for the administrator account. I enabled the administrator account by opening command prompt as an Administrator and typed in net user administrator /active:yes . When I logged into the Administrator account I was told I am logged in as a temporary account. So I deleted the .bak and the other profile in the list for Administrator.
Now when I enable the administrator account and I try to log in I get this error message " User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. " I could log in to my account without any issues.
Added: I was able to rebuild the Built-in ADMINISTRATOR account by trying to log in to it in SAFE MODE. I was successfully able to log in without being told that I am signed in as a temporary account. So I restarted and tried to log in , in normal mode which I successfully did. My other issue is I am not able to remove the C:\Users\TEMP account. Its not inside the user account area. its only listed in the C:\Users. I did take ownership of the entire folder but still wasn't able to delete it.
Removed C:\Users\TEMP folder by adding the " USERS " name in the security tab under Group or User names. It removed the lock that was on the TEMP folder and I was able to remove the folder by pressing the DELETE button.
