How do I refresh the fingerprint I use for logon

I have for some time used a fingerprint reader to log on to a HP 4730s .
My print is no longer recognized, probably wear and tear.
Where can I register a new print, after logging on with password?

In the software you can register another finger. It may also be the reader is dirty.

My problem is: Where is the update function hidden in the software?

    Hi,

Click on Start -> Control Panel -> Biometric Devices
You will have to click either 'Use your fingerprint with Windows' or 'Change biometric settings' (not sure which one, will update once I get home but its either one of those).
You will be prompted for the windows user password, after which you can register a new fingerprint.

Thanks for a prompt reply, but, alas, on my Control Panel there is no heading Biometric Devices.

If I select an option to show 'All Control Panel Items' I can count to 55 items sorted alphabetically, but no Biometric or Fingerprint unit.

Just in passing, if there is no installed driver it probably wont show in control panel, it should show in device manager.

    Hello,

it is correct, via Device Manager I found Biometric Devices - Validity Sensor
and can inform myself about the driver manufacturer and status; it is said to work properly.
However, that path doesn't let me use the driver in any way; specifically I want to update the prints that were registered for login use.
