Where did you get Win7? Did you burn the disk yourself? How are you activating it?

Please post back a screenshot of your maximized Disk Mgmt drive map with listings, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu.

In addition work through these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 to check the logs for repeat errors, establish a clean boot, use System Resources to check for problems and solution, test hardware.

Simply formatting is often not enough.
    Make a 100 % clean install.
    Clean Install Windows 7

Report back to us immediately, before you install anything other than MSE, Microsoft Security Essentials, as to the status.
Of course, simply formatting is not enough. After formatting all you have is a totally clean disk with no information; ie, a totally blank disk. But the OP clearly stated after formatting s/he installed the operating system. A clean install simply does the same thing using a one step process, but the results are are no different. If you could cite any reputable data source to the contrary I would be interested in reviewing it.

I have a Toshiba Satalite p205 which came with Vista pre-installed.
I installed full version of Win Ultimate and everything was fine for awhile.

Later on after numerous updates it started to want to do a startup repair 3 out of 5 times.

My last resort was formatting and re-install. Same problem.

Anyone have a solution for this?
Is this happening with just the clean install or did you, also, install updates?
    Win did activate.

It's been so long I don't remember if problem occurred before or after update.

I purchased OEM disks. No problem on 2 desktops.

My experience has been that sometimes an update can cause issues. In an effort to isolate the problem you can view those that are installed and see if the date of install coincides with the approximate time you started having problems. If you suspect an update to be the cause, uninstall and check the results.

    Check the following for uninstalling updates;

Seems like a cou[le posts above disappeared!!!!

Someone asked for a screen shot of the Computer Management window and it is attached.

I did find and install the Toshiba program installer. No news yet as to whether it made any difference.

I still need to check these. Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

I appreciate the help and patience and my following through with suggestions.

The plug went bad on power pack. Must find another plug before I can proceed.
