Install win 7 64-bit eval iso on win xp pro 32-bit system dual boot

Hi, I am new here and I need some help creating a bootable usb on my Win XP Pro 32-bit machine to load an eval copy of Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit that I got from Microsoft. I would like to install the Win 7 to be dual bootable. I have a second HD on my system that I just formatted where I want to load Win 7. I tried to make a bootable USB using the Microsoft USB/DVD tool, but it failed in the end and had an error message regarding the bootsec.exe file.
My 10 day time limit is running out for my eval iso and I'd appreciate help getting it loaded. I have searched this forum but I can't find help doing exactly what I want to accomplish.
    Thanks!

Can't help with the bootable USB stick because I've never created one, but just wanted to ask why you don't consider burning it to a DVD ?

Plus to set up that sort of dual boot, you'll need to use Easy BCD program so Windows XP can come up as an option on your Windows 7 boot menu. And when you install I recommend disconnecting the XP hard drive.
