Hello jdestefon, and welcome to Seven Forums.
Do you mean AutoPlay?
AutoPlay - Turn On or Off
thank you for you interest in helping me. perhaps if i explain what is happening it will help you in solving the problem. a while ago i bought a new printer. the printer came with an installition disc. when i put the install disc into the d drive all that would happen is a icon for roxio burn would appear on the desktop. in order for me to install the new printer i eventually had to go to my computer and right click on the d drive icon while the printer data disc was there. this allowed me to enter the set-up menu for the printer off of the data disc. so basically what i am saying is that in the past whenever i put an install disc in the d drive for something like a printer, game, etc., windows 7 would automatically recognize the disc and launch it into the set-up mode. it no longer does this but only brings up a roxio burn icon as if i want to burn a copy of the disc. i checked the autoplay on my control panel and the box is checked for autoplay to run on all media. something is interfering with windows automatically recognizing a disc when i place it in the d drive.
The blue NOTE box at the top of the tutorial above will help explain more about the changes made about AutoRun in Windows to help prevent malware from being able to automatically run from external media.
You should at least get a AutoPlay pop-up dialog that you can click on to "Run setup.exe" though. Double check to make sure that you have your AutoPlay settings set to Ask me every time.
