    Help!!!

I have an Acer Aspire laptop. It started run slow last week and I tried to fix that by cleaning it up a bit. Diskcleanup, virus scans, emptying recycle bin, however it did not work. The computer would then not boot past the WINDOWS screen, so i would click on REPAIR, but the startup REPAIR would not find anything, the memory diagnostic tool would claim to be okay as well. Until yesterday i received the error

"Windows cannot start due to a hardware or software change

    0x00000f

Restarting many multiple times, I couldnt get to the to the F8 menu. I inserted the Windows 7 DVD to repair and finally got the repair menu to system restore. However it would not work either.

I thought maybe a bios update would fix the issue with the unreadable hardware via usb even though no new hardware or software has been changed mind you
    It did not help.

THen I tried doing a clean install and would get the error message that there was a file missing!!! with the windows 7 dvd.

I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO!!! PLEASE help

    Welcome
You may want to save your stuff with Ubuntu and then use the hidden partition to restore to the way it was when you first bought it.
Alt + F10 - To access restoration partition on boot.

    See my above post

Back up your stuff, your Hard drive is failing. Dont use the computer for anything else.

Forget about the restoration partition, too late for that.

For the future, buy yourself an external hard drive and download the free Macrium. At least once a month back up your hard drive and also your stuff. Whatever happens you will be all set. No need to have problems like this, again.

Okay I keep getting an error saying "FAILED TO MOUNT" with UBUNTU.
After clicking "EXAMINE", it says "DISK FAILURE IMMINENT"

It continuously says a job is pending on /dev/sda3

Does this mean I can't backup my data? is there another way?
If so what do I do now?
Do i have to purchase a new windows disc?
