Windows 7: Swapping main hadrdisk? help!!

I have formatted my Acer Aspire 5552 and Installed Windows 7. Previously, my ''main drive'' was my Local Disk (D: ) (450GB) and now it is Local disk (C: ) (20 GB) So there is no room for my programs, etc.. so how I swap them around?

Have tried to save the programs on Local Disk (D: ) , but then they do not work.

Please be more specific. Are you saying that when you reformatted, you created a 20GB partition for windows and the remainder for the D: partition? Is it the same hard drive? How big is your hard drive?

well when i formatted the HDD i created one 20GB C drive partition for Windows 7 and one around 450GB D drive for all my programs and games etc,

the problem is when i install something lets say a game on the D drive it won't open, it's like it doesn't exist,

so do i have to format again and make just 1 partition or is there another solution for this?

By saving your program Data in another partition you are making your HDD work harder and reducing performance. Make your C: partition larger and Keep files you want safe in the D: partition such as music, pictures, and documents in case of OS failure. Back up your C: partition using software such as Acronis True image. You can resize your partitions using Acronis Disk Director or EASEUS partion master. Or you can re-install. if you have a 500 GB hard disk I would suggest 200GB C: and 300 GB D: or 150 GB C: and 350 GB D: your call.
