Icons covered up with page that looks like old Windows 3.11 Window

Most of the icons on my desktop are partially covered up.

Looks like a white page with the top corner turned down.
Inside the page is what looks like the old Windows 3.11 Window with 6 tiny icons inside the window.

Tried everything I could find in Control Panel... How can I make these go away.

Tried to attach sample icon for program Deluge. Attachment shows as Deluge.exe, but it should be a shortcut to the exe.

Hello RoboticsProfess, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Could you post a screenshot showing this to help see what may be wrong? :)

Your shortcut arrow overlay on the shortcuts has been corrupted or removed. You could use OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to restore the default shortcut arrow overlay to fix this. :)

Shortcut Arrow - Change, Remove, or Restore

    Hope this helps,

It worked. The program wouldn't let me log off and gave me a long, complicated error, but when I said "Continue" anyway, it put the small arrows in. When I tried putting no arrows, the problem returned. When I tried "Custom" arrows and selected "empty" icon, I got all my plain icons back.

    Thanks.

Hmm, ok. Here are a few things to check.
    • Are you logged in as an administrator.
    • Do you have the UAC notification settings set to at least the default level or above?
    • Did you download and install the correct 32-bit or 64-bit Vista Shortcut Overlay Remover version?
