Will you be able to upgrade to final once it comes out?

Will you be able to upgrade from the evaluation version to final once it's released? Or will you have to reinstall fresh?

You can upgrade from the RC version to the RTM version. Some folks say it is not recommended, but I did it and it worked just great, perfectly actually, for me.

The method is explained by MS here: Engineering Windows 7 : Delivering a quality upgrade experience

Might be the beta. What is the build number?

Probably is the RC, but like LordBob said, what's the build number.

    If it's 7000, it's Beta.
    If it's 7100, it's RC.

Microsoft recommends clean and most of us do too. You could have any version from 7000 (beta) to 7100, 7260, 7264,7600. So its hard too say upgrading from what to what.

The RC then. I believe you can upgrade from it. Worst case you can't, then you can follow my tutorial on how to restore from the Windows.old folder:
Windows.old folder - Restore into a new installation

And yes, if it is available for a DL there, then you can use it.

You might want to use Windows Easy Transfer to back up settings & programs, before you upgrade or clean install.

As I said before, upgrade install is not only possible, it works GREAT. So if you don't want to go through the whole clean install and all that that involves, feel free to give the upgrade install a try. Worst case, it doesn't work out well for you and you have to clean install, which is what others are advising you to do anyway, so you have nothing to lose by trying it and seeing if it works out for you as well as it did for me. GL however you go.
