OK the folders and files are all still there under owner > my pictures

Just copying them somewhere and double backing it up before I look into following step 1 of this any further-

Not sure I need to now? Maybe I accidentally pressed a short cut key or something and did something to remove pictures from library...?

I was also trying to update the drivers for my blueray the other day and it didn't quite work ( Corel WinDVD - can't play Blueray - upgrade not installing ) so don't know if that's connected. I'll run a full system scan with MES after I sort this out.

Thanks for the help anyway, situation emergencia disastros ruin has been succesfully averted :-)

You're very welcome.

Some information on Libraries that you may find useful:

Also, system restore is a useful tool as are Windows 7's previous versions (files).

Just happened again, and oh look- there it is in my recycle bin, the shortcut. How did it get there. Going to run a full system diagnostic this evening, that's kind of making me a bit nervous the coincidence of this.

Have a look here along with the other two links I gave you on libraries: Customize a library

That said, a virus scan as suggested by Tekno earlier may be a good idea.

Many of us use Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

Might want to check for malware as described by me earlier. No harm in trying.

Malwarebytes is pretty good.

You can also use Microsoft Security Essentials as well.

Full scan with MES turned up nothing as suspected.

So still no idea why this happened, but the main thing is I didn't lose anything and I have it backed up now.

Thanks for the help.

Consolidate Shortcut Folders/File Folders in Open Dialogue
I was wondering if there's a way to sort file folders and shortcut folders so they are listed together, as in previous OS versions. I find it frustrating that 7 has forced the shortcuts to be split up into their own category rather than their file properties. I prefer to sort my folders by type,...
