On investigation, I'm not sure how to shrink a partition in Diskpart--although you can make logical partitions with Diskpart if you had unallocated space on the drive. You don't.
Given that, the best thing for you is to forget Diskpart and see how far you can get in Disk Management.
It's possible you will have to use Partition Wizard boot disc since Disk Management is not too flexible.
Did you even try to shrink C and create a Logical partition in the shrink space?
Partition or Volume - Shrink
Partition or Volume - Create New
Only if it fails to create the Logical or wants to convert to a Dynamic Disk do you need to use Partition Wizard. I linked you in my previous post to a video tutorial on how to Resize (shrink) using PW CD if Disk Mgmt doesn't shrink it enough. Here is the video on how to then create a Logical partition: How to Create Partition with partition manager? Video Help
I shrunk my C drive by 25000mb (a bit more then the recommended for windows 8), so have the unallocated space there, the problem is that i didnt know what I could do to that unallocated space to make it a working partition, but i will try this video and hope it helps
okay, so i used partition wizard successfully to create a new logical partition with my unacollated space, thanks for the video gregrocker
