Repair Install Needed but No Discs? I use Advanced SystemCare, CCleaner and MBAM to scan / remove issues on my laptop about once a week.
About a year ago I downloaded a similar program from CNet Downloads and ran a scan / clean. However, a few days later I noticed I get errors for example when right clicking on the desktop and clicking 'personalise', I now get an error - 'explorer.exe no such interface supported' and similar issues like when in 'Control Panel\System and Security' if I click a sub-category nothing will happen.
These errors don't have any effect on my laptop for daily tasks, but 'niggle' at me now and again.
I don't have my Windows 7 disks with me, their at my house some 200 odd miles away (not going back for a while), but was wondering if there was a way to repair my system without the disks? | My System Specs |

You can download an ISO of your particular Windows version and burn it to a disk to make an install disc.
Try to restrain yourself on those optimization and cleaner programs. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Ignatz Special; 4 speed manual gearbox; factory air conditioning; one of one OS Windows 7 SP1, Home Premium, 64-bit CPU Intel Sandy Bridge i5-2500, not overclocked Motherboard Gigabyte H67A-UD3H-B3, full ATX Memory 4 GB Crucial DDR3-1333 Graphics Card none; graphics are integrated on CPU Sound Card onboard: Realtek ALC892; external: USB Behringer UF0-202 Monitor(s) Displays NEC 90GX2-BK 19" LCD Screen Resolution 800 x 640 Keyboard Leopold Tenkeyless with Cherry Blue switches, USB Mouse Logitech or Microsoft optical wired; either USB or PS 2 PSU Seasonic SS-560KM, modular Case Antec Solo II Cooling CPU: Scythe Big Shuriken; Case: Scythe Slipstream 800 & 500 Hard Drives System: Intel 320 Series SSD, 80 GB;

Nice one! Thanks for all the links, they'll come in very useful, not done a repair install before so hopefully I can't go to far wrong with the links. Just so I'm sure doing a repair install like this won't affect any of my programs / documents etc. will it? Best to backup in any case I suppose. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP DV6-2030sa OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile Processor M520 2.3GHz Memory 4096 MB (2 x 2048 MB) Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4530 512MB Monitor(s) Displays 15.6 inch High Definition HP LED Brightview Display Hard Drives Internal:320GB
